Jodee Roddy
My name is Jodee Roddy and I am a Healing Hearts leader. “Healing Hearts is a Gospel-centered, grace driven ministry that offers hope and healing in Jesus Christ through God’s Word to people who have been broken by sin…healing hearts, healing families one heart at a time.”
I am passionate about Healing Hearts because it was the tool God used to heal and bring great freedom to me personally in my ongoing struggle with depression. He did several miracles for me when I did the Bible study for myself in 2009. He untangled and showed me the roots of things I had struggled with my entire life. I had childhood trauma I had stuffed and never acknowledged but as I faced the sin against me, I was not only able to forgive but to receive forgiveness for my own sin in new ways. I was recommended for training and in the years since as a leader I have continued to witness God’s transforming work through His Word and the power of His Holy Spirit in countless women’s lives. As serve in my local church with this discipleship ministry I am helping with their mission of “Transforming Real People into Real Followers of Jesus Christ”. “I can run in the path of His commands, because He has set my heart free.” (Taken from Psalm 119:32). He is my Healer (Jehovah-Rapha) and continues to do the following verses for me and others. Isaiah 61:1-4 “The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me, because the LORD has anointed me to bring good news to the poor, he has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to those who are bound, to proclaim the year of the LORD’s favor, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all who mourn; to grant to those who mourn in Zion to give them a beautiful headdress instead of ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning, the garment of praise instead of a faint spirit; that they may be called oaks of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that he may be glorified. They shall build up the ancient ruins; they shall raise up the former devastations; they shall repair the ruined cities, the devastations of many generations.” He sees, He knows, He loves, and He understands. Wow, what a Mighty, Redeeming, and Restoring God I serve!
When you support Healing Hearts, you get to partner in Kingdom work. We are called to “make disciples of all nations” (Matthew 28:19-20) and supporting Healing Hearts is making that happen. Don’t you want to be about lasting things – people and God’s Word? You will also get so much bang for your buck! We are unpaid lay counselors offering hope and healing through God’s Word and the power of the Holy Spirit. We are getting in the mud with people. To the “roadkill wounded,” we are loving truth givers offering life, hope and healing. We are dealing with the messy issues many often don’t like to address such as sexual abuse, domestic violence, abortion, rape, catastrophic loss, pornography, divorce, adultery, etc. His Word is relevant and able to address everything faced in life.
