My Story — From Brokenness to Healing
My name is Heidi. I am a follower of Jesus Christ, a wife, a mother, and a Mimi to a beautiful 1‑year‑old granddaughter. Most importantly, I am a woman who has experienced the transforming grace, forgiveness, and redemption of Jesus Christ.
In 2018, I fully surrendered my life to Jesus. As I began walking with Him and studying His Word, God opened my eyes to the deep brokenness I had carried for years.
For so long, I lived under the weight of guilt and shame from my abortions and past choices. But God, in His grace and mercy, met me right in the middle of my pain. Through His Word, He began renewing my heart and showing me that my past did not have to define my future.
In 2023, I found Healing Hearts Ministries and completed two of their Bible studies — Binding Up the Brokenhearted and The Hem of His Garment. Through these studies, God brought truth where shame once lived, hope where pain had taken root, and freedom where I had felt bound for years.
About Healing Hearts Ministries
Healing Hearts Ministries was founded in 1988 by Sue Liljenberg to help women suffering from post-abortion trauma. Since then, the ministry has expanded to offer Bible studies for women, men, and young people who have been wounded in many different ways. Through God’s Word, Healing Hearts helps hurting people find hope, forgiveness, and healing in Christ.
I have personally experienced that healing. Because of what God has done in my life, I now have a deep desire to walk alongside hurting women and point them to the truth and redemption found only in Jesus Christ. I am almost done with my training to become a biblical counselor with Healing Hearts Ministries. My goal is to be certified by the end of 2026.
