Dear Friend,

Seeds of FaithPlanting seeds of faith to raise the next generation of godly women…
Since our inception, Healing Hearts Ministries has been devoted to “binding up the brokenhearted” as we lovingly work to bring true, Gospel-centered healing to those who have been affected by past sins such as abortion, abuse, rape, rugs, divorce. As much as we might consider these issues largely coming to a head in one’s adult years, the reality is that today’s youth are just as affected by them—directly, or indirectly— during their teen years. The decisions they are making and worldviews they are forming in middle school and high school are ones from which their adulthood will grow, for better or worse. That’s why we’re passionate about the work our Youth Ministries division is doing to intercede in the lives of young adults. We like to think of our efforts as planting seeds of Faith…and we’d like YOU to join us!

You’ve heard us share about our “First Love” study for young women and our “The Fight of Your Life” study for young men. This month, we’d like to share testimonies and encouragement from our “Walking Together: Mothers & Daughters Growing in Christ” initiative.

“We walk by faith, not by sight…”
In 2014, while launching the “First Love” study for girls, we also began a 3-year campaign to host special mother and teen daughter events all across the United States. The “Walking Together” conferences provided a full day of teaching, worship, breakout groups, and fellowship that would encourage moms and daughters to consider how their relationship should be defined by faith, not fear; peace, not anger; and grace, not perfection. Throughout the day, we gave them a glimpse of God’s loving design for their lives—one in which moms (and mentors) walk together with their daughters. These events proved to be an incredible way to bring healing and hope to relationships that can often become distanced or destructive at home.

The events also provided a launching point for many moms and daughters to begin one-on-one or small group discipleship studies through our “First Love: Embracing a Love that Lasts” study. Here’s what one mother/daughter pair had to say about “First Love”:
“I wish this kind of study had been around  when I was a teen, as no one ever asked me a lot of questions. If I can be more aware, hopefully I can be more empathetic and helpful to teens I encounter in my life and at my church.”
Mom & Pastor’s Wife
“First Love goes way beyond the surface of your heart and tells you what God says about love and  relationships and a lot more. It gives you a outline of how to live in a broken world.”

Through each city we visited, the need was always the same. It was a message that needed to be heard. The only problem was that we could only go so many places in one year. How could we get this vital message out to more communities? From that simple question, our “Walking Together” Video Event & Curriculum sprouted to life. Now every church, small group, or home has the opportunity to create the perfectly crafted event for their size and schedule, making this the perfect tool for YOU to plant in your home or church!

Watching the Seeds Grow...
Read how “Walking Together” has been impacting local church groups:

“After our church hosted a Walking Together event, many women and their daughters followed up by attending the ‘First Love’ Bible study. Since then, we have been able to host several more events using the Walking Together DVD curriculum. Mothers who attended the Bible study have been motivated to lead additional ‘First Love’ studies for other teens, or simply help lead the weelky Group Activities and Group Discussions.” — Jodie Z. (Texas)

“Around 30 moms and daughters attended our conference.  It was amazing to see what the Lord did in just one day as we looked to his Word for guidance in mother-daughter relationships. There were some really hard, broken relationships but God’s Word and the Holy Spirit broke through and major healing happened.  One young woman prayed to receive Christ!  Several moms and daughters signed up to go through the First Love Study in September for further discipleship. An amazing day, well worth the work and effort that went into it.” Tish P. (New Mexico)

“Over 50 mothers, daughters, and mentors gathered for our Walking Together event.  During the conference, mothers and daughters learned biblically based principles and constructive ways to engage with each other so they can ‘walk together’ the way God intended. Many moms who had been walking in fear and anger due to unrealistic expectations that they had to be the perfect mother, found encouragement and practical ways to ‘walk by faith, not by sight.’”Yvonne B. (WA)

Will you help plant seeds of faith at your church?
Churches are slowly learning about this video-style conference, which teaches moms and daughters to work on godly communication with each other as they seek to walk together through various heart issues and grow and change to the glory of God.

School is now in full swing for many teens. As parents and teachers seek to educate and prepare them for their future, will our youth be learning about the God of the Universe who created them for His glory? Will He be their focus both now and as they move into adulthood? We need your assistance in getting the word out about our youth materials.

Every harvest begins with planting a seed. Whether you end up organizing an event or simply bringing this curriculum to someone else’s attention, you can be part of the planting process that can change a young woman’s life. Would you prayerfully consider bringing this event curriculum to your church?

Please visit healinghearts.org/walkingtogether to learn more about the life-changing Walking Together initiative and check out the resources we have waiting there for you. And don’t forget to do something with it! Talk to your pastors and youth leaders, purchase a copy, share the link with a friend… and then watch the harvest God brings.
