A Story of Hope

I had been kneeling down every morning and praying for God to humble me for quite some time. He answered my prayers when I went with my daughter-in-law to a ladies’ retreat at her church. I met my mentor there. She was a speaker that day, and she surprised me by talking about abortion. She had so much compassion, and I could see Jesus in her eyes; they sparkled, and her heart was full. I could tell that this beautiful woman was praying for someone that might need to hear her message. She talked about the statistics, the pain in abortion for all involved, and even how many Christian women have had abortions. Then she admitted that she had had one. I could see tears in her eyes. I didn’t dare open up, but I did grab her information.

I cried for two days straight, and I knew that God was saying, ’’You need to do the study.’’ I have been a believer for many years, but I struggled with accepting forgiveness and did not realize I was walking in so much sin and unbelief. Even though I had memorized scripture extensively, I still lacked understanding of who God was.

The Lord healed old wounds and gave me the assurance of my forgiveness. He helped me understand where I had gone wrong by stuffing everything for so long and pretending to be okay when clearly I was not. I am forever grateful to The Lord for hearing my cry and answering my prayers. I feel that every woman who has been through an abortion should do this study, even if they are afraid or unsure because I know it will change their life.
