A Story of Hope

It was with a fearful heart that I decided to embark on a study that I knew would expose my sin and struggles. After 50 years of self-loathing and running from what I felt was the biggest mistake of my life, I was exhausted from the burden I was carrying and the mask that I was wearing. I was afraid that I would have to stand up in a crowd one day and share my story but my counsellor assured me that this was not what this was about. This is about healing and freedom found in Jesus.

Healing Hearts walked me through Biblical truths that I had known all my life, but never allowed to change me. My counsellor was knowledgeable, encouraging and never judgmental. The on-line format allowed me to take the time that I needed to address the issues in my life that were stealing my joy and keeping me ’’stuck’’ as I realized my choice to abort was a result of my need to control, my pride and my self-centeredness. I learned that trying to forgive myself was not Biblical. I had to accept the forgiveness Jesus offered.

I will never regret taking this study as I am learning to ’’Stand in the ways and see and ask for the old paths, where the good way is and walk in it; then you will have rest for you souls’’ Jeremiah 6:16. I am on a path of healing and restoration one step at a time because of what Jesus has done for me!
