A woman's story · Binding Up the Brokenhearted
A Story of Hope
This study has brought much needed healing and clarity over my life. I am able to hear God’s voice throughout my days now. It’s not an audible voice but a nudge in the right direction.
When fear arises, He tells me that He did not give me a spirit of fear but of power and love and a sound mind. When I start feeling anger bubbling up, He says let all bitterness and wrath and anger be put away from you. When I am struggling with sin, I know to ask Him to create in me a clean heart, and renew a right spirit within me. I turn to Him, confess and repent and I feel an instant release from the shackles of sin. When negative thoughts start creeping in, I ask myself ’’are these thoughts true, noble, just, pure, lovely, commendable?’’ I use God’s Word over every situation in my life now. I no longer want to live by my own standard or anyone else’s. Only God’s standard is true. I now feel inclined to lend others the same kind of forgiveness that I did not deserve from God. I have a deeper understanding of my identity in Jesus Christ. It is only through Him that I have been forgiven and set free.
I see positive (even if subtle) changes in my relationships, especially with my husband and son. I thank my counselor, Irene, for asking hard questions and challenging my faith throughout this study. It was very helpful and I had many break-throughs. I thank God for this ministry, Healing Hearts, and what all of you are doing to help us heal from past and present sin and grow in our relationship with Christ.
