At 17 years old, RW and his high-school sweetheart faced an unexpected pregnancy and made the decision to have an abortion. It was a decision that would haunt him for many years. Like many men affected by abortion, RW didn't know where to turn or how to deal with the guilt and emotions he carried. So he did what seemed easiest: he bottled it up, tried to forget about it, and went on with his life. But the weight of that decision remained. Many years later, RW's wife introduced him to Healing Hearts Ministries International. Through the Restoring a Father’s Heart Bible study, RW began to confront his past through the truth of Scripture and discovered something he had been missing for years: restoration and hope through the gospel of Jesus Christ. Today, RW is a Healing Hearts counselor, using what God has done in his own life to encourage other men who may be silently carrying guilt, shame, or other painful emotions connected to an abortion. His message to those men is simple: there is hope. Through Jesus Christ, the past does not have to remain hidden or continue to define the future. RW's story is a testimony to the restoration and hope available through the gospel—and an invitation for men affected by abortion to stop carrying that burden alone.
