Dear Friend,


This summer I was able to reunite, for an overnighter, with the girls from Cincinnati, who recently completed our first pilot group for the First Love Bible Study. They shared with me how the Bible study has impacted their hearts and lives.

I would like to share some of their comments with you.

The biggest thing I learned about my relationship with Jesus was:
"He should be my first love, friend and leader."
"That He gave everything for me, so I need to give everything for Him."

The biggest thing I learned about God was:
"How much He loves us."
"He is forgiving."
"He has a plan for every one of us."

The biggest thing I learned about relationships in general was:
"You need a strong foundation of trust."
"God is love, so if a guy has no love for God he will not have any (real) love for you either."
"How much work they are!"

The biggest thing I learned about myself was:
"I am a people pleaser."
"I should care about the way I look only enough to look presentable."
"I'm so stubborn and need to learn to change."
"How I (feel like I) always have to be right and that I'm not always right, God is."
"There are some problems I struggle with that I didn't realize."

This Bible study has impacted my life:
"By reinforcing the decisions I've made and how to make better decisions for my future."
"By making me realize how I should think about God and how my mind does lurk onto other things that are less important."
"It makes me double-check what I do."

Other comments:
"I loved it!!! The activities were fun."
"I learned a lot about being a young woman in today's society and how I can praise God
in daily life."
"Thank you for teaching me so much and helping me grow in my Christian Life!"
"It's such a great study and I really think it was worth the time to do it."


After doing this first pilot group we went back and made some minor changes to the study and added some graphics to prepare it for the next round. This fall we will be doing several pilot groups. One group will be done at a girls ranch, another at a half way house for girls who are transitioning out of the sex- trade industry and three others will be done in churches. Please pray for both the leaders and the participants of these groups. These groups will help us determine our target audience for this study and will help us to refine the materials even further.

Please pray for us as we move forward with this project. There is still work to be done to finish the leader's guide and literature and to prepare it to go to the printer for distribution. If funds can be raised for the initial publication we hope to be able to print and start distribution in the fall of 2013.

I want to thank everyone for their prayers and for the financial support that has made it possible for us to move this project forward.
