Dear Friend,


As you are reading this prayer letter I will be in Lima, Peru where I will be speaking at a Latin American conference sponsored by Baptists for Life. At this conference I will be training volunteers who work in Crisis Pregnancy Centers in Peru, Ecuador, Columbia, Bolivia, Argentina & Chile to use the Healing Hearts post-abortion bible study that has been translated into Spanish. This will be the official launching of our Spanish materials. Please pray as follows:
  • For Safe Travel
  • For good interpreter and class attendance.
  • For the printing of the post-abortion bible studies to be distributed at this conference.
  • For God to give us spiritually mature volunteers to train.
  • For continued financial support to print studies in the USA.
This is a project that has been very near and dear to my heart for a very long time. Sometimes we are so focused on foreign missions that we neglect to see the mission that is right in our very own back yard. I know this may be a hot topic for some because of all of the immigration issues that are being discussed politically right now, but I would like to address the Spanish speaking population that we have right here in the USA who desperately need to know that Jesus loves them.

Some may be here legally and some may be here illegally. Regardless of how they got here Jesus still loves them and He has a plan for their life. God is sovereign and we have to trust that they have been placed in our back yard for a very good reason. Are we going to wish that they would go back to where they came from or are we going to reach out with the love and compassion of Jesus Christ and minister to their needs? I believe the Spanish speaking population in this country could be one of the most spiritually neglected ethnic groups in America.

This past October, during our Healing Hearts National conference, one of our Spanish speaking leaders ministered to one of the maids at the hotel we were staying at in Washington State. This precious young woman had a lot of pain from past hurts in her life and she was hungry to know more about Jesus. I was so very proud of this leader as she collected contact information from this precious young woman and promised to send her a Spanish Bible and contact her as soon as she arrived back home to Michigan. They have been working through one of our Spanish Bible Studies since and God is doing good things as we minister His word to this precious woman. We are trusting that the angels in Heaven will soon rejoice when she comes to know Jesus as her personal savior. The need is so very great and my burden gets heavier and heavier the more that I pray.

Bible Studies have been printed for South America but we desperately need to do an initial printing of Spanish Bible Studies to be used here in the US. In order to do that we have the following financial needs.
  • $1,000 to edit "The Hem of His Garment" Spanish Study. The post-abortion study has been edited.
  • $5,000 to print both "Binding Up the Brokenhearted" and "The Hem of his Garment." This would give us 500 of each study to put on the shelf which would allow us to grow our Spanish Ministry here in the US.
God has given us a great opportunity to reach people right here in the United States with the salvation and healing that can only come through Jesus Christ. Will you prayerfully consider helping with this project? It's such a small price to pay for a lost soul. Please pray for us as we move forward in faith to train bi-lingual leaders and reach out to our Spanish Speaking sisters.
