Healing Hearts Ministries Internaional [LOGO]

Dear Friend,

Summer is over and fall is rushing in faster than most of us would like. Those of us who live in the beautiful Pacific Northwest didn't see temperatures above 50 until after the 4th of July this year, so we are praying for summer to continue a bit longer.

This has been a very busy year for Healing Hearts both on the foreign mission field and in the U. S. This year we will have expanded our ministry by over 30%. At our International Conference in October, we will be training 32 new trainees who will go back to their home churches and reach out to their communities to Bind up the Brokenhearted. Please keep these ladies in your prayers:

Healing Hearts Youth Ministries

I'm very excited to announce to you that we will be moving forward in faith to create a youth division of Healing Hearts. Camille Cates will be heading up this division. Camille has been with Healing Hearts for 11 years and is the wife of a youth pastor. She and her husband Troy have been in youth ministry for the past 15 years and Camille has spent the last year working with her local Pregnancy Care Center teaching abstinence in the public school system.

When Camille and I talked about this new venture in ministry, she shared her heart with me:

"This last school year, I had the privilege of working with my local Pregnancy Care Center as an Abstinence Educator in the public school system. I receive letters from students who listen to the message and are greatly impacted by it. Letters like this one...
"Dear Mrs. Cates,
Thank you so much for being our teacher for the past couple of days.
You have taught me a lot about abstinence and relationships that I wouldn't
have learned anywhere else. I planned on staying abstinent anyway, but it is
such a hard promise to keep! Thanks to you, I have learned ways and reasons
to stay abstinent. I kind of actually thought that the media was right and that
maybe sex was okay until I met you! Right off the bat you talked about the
consequences of it. Thanks to you, I will remain abstinent!"
- 8th Grade Student
The reality I see on a daily basis is... teen girls are giving away their bodies left and right whenever and to whomever. You probably could've guessed this was happening just by the way many of these teens dress and act. Some of them are sexually aggressive towards boys and sometimes even towards older, married men.

I believe that before these girls agree to give away their bodies, they have already given away their hearts! It's the heart issues that need to be addressed in a biblical manner.
We are rapidly losing this generation because we are not giving them solid biblical answers for their problems. While we give our teens "the talk", sometimes they are not receiving hard-core discipleship from God's Word as to WHY they should be saving their hearts, minds and bodies until marriage.

After several months spent in prayer and discussion, we feel God is leading us to develop a bible study to address a young woman's heart, so she can ultimately give it to her First Love, Jesus Christ, and then allow Him to guard it for her future husband or for Christ alone, if she is called to be single.

Because of all that Camille has seen and heard working with teens from all walks of life in the public schools, we do believe this message is both crucial and urgent in guiding the future of the next generation.

Camille would like to come on staff full time and is in the process of raising her support. If you would like to designate support toward this new mission, you can go to our web site at www.healinghearts.org/donate.php to make your donation. Please note that under the section, "This Gift is for", you would select "Cates, Camille - Youth Ministries" or if you are mailing a donation, please earmark your check "Youth Ministries". She hopes to raise $34,000 for the coming year to cover salary and other expenses related to this important work. Please pray for us and this new phase of ministry.

New Healing Hearts Office

With the rapid growth of the ministry and the need to hire office staff to carry the load, the basement of my home was just not working any longer, so we had to seek a solution to get us by until we have raised the remainder of the money needed to purchase a facility for the ministry. It's amazing that we were able to survive almost 25 years without a facility, but now it's time to come up out of the basement and let the world know we are here! Woops, actually I think they already know we are here.

We took our situation to the Lord in prayer and He provided in an amazing way. After looking at several office spaces in the Bonney Lake, Washington area where we live, I became discouraged at the cost and what was available, and I was about to give up. Our bookkeeper, Kim DeWitz, and I inquired and looked at a small house that once served as a medical clinic. The rooms were tiny and the square footage would be about like the basement of my home, so it just wasn't going to work. We thought it was the last option that we could afford. Just prior to leaving that location, we asked the realtor if he had anything else. That was the million dollar question. He said, "Yes, as a matter of fact I do and I can show it to you this afternoon." We arrived at a warehouse location just off of East Main Street in Puyallup, Washington, which is not far from our former office. From the outside it looked like a typical small warehouse, so I was preparing myself for what the inside might look like. When we walked in the door I was completely amazed. The inside looked like a high rise office building suite. (Pictures will follow in our next prayer letter) It was only a few hundred dollars more than what we had previously seen and it was three times the square footage. It had exactly the number of rooms we needed and a garage area for shipping and receiving, which we are so grateful for. We have been hauling heavy things up and down the basement stairs for years now. We even have room to grow. It was almost as if the Lord had placed it there just for us. Additionally, we now have enough room for our local leaders to use the building in the evenings to lead Healing Hearts Bible Study groups. We were humbled and amazed at God's provision for us.
We signed a two year lease and hope to raise the remainder of the money we need to purchase a permanent facility by the end of our two year lease. We are about half way to our goal with our Capital Campaign, so please pray for us as we continue to raise support for the building. If you would like to make a donation to the campaign, please designate your gift to "A Home for Healing Hearts". With commercial real estate on its way down in price, this may be perfect timing for us. God's timing is always perfect!

Come celebrate with us!

We would like to invite you to our Building Dedication and Open House on Sunday, October 3rd from 3:00- 6:00 p.m. The office is located at 2531 Inter Ave., Suite C, Puyallup, WA 98371. We will have the prayer dedication at 3:00 p.m. and then from 3-6 p.m. you will be able to tour the building and see the amazing provision of the Lord. He even provided the furniture. That's another story for another time. We hope you can come!

We want to thank all of you who faithfully give of your resources, your time and your prayers. All of the amazing work that God is doing in Healing Hearts is because we have faithful people coming along side to help us financially and pray for us as we serve in this ministry. By your giving, you are truly storing up treasures in Heaven and for that, we and the people we serve are extremely grateful.

May the Lord bless and keep you always.

In His Love,

International Director
