Dear Friend,

Greetings and Happy New Year from the Foreign Missions Department of Healing Hearts Ministries International! With the new year comes the blessing of ministry and opportunities to serve the Lord Jesus Christ in various countries around the world. We would like to thank you for your support of our foreign missions in the past and would like to share with you three wonderful upcoming missions for 2010.
Uganda, Africa - Spring 2010

(Camille Cates)

Many have already heard that Africa is a ravaged land, torn by war, famine and literally dying of AIDS. Maybe you haven't heard that God is reaching people with the hope of Christ in many African countries. One such country is Uganda. Healing Hearts has had the privilege to partner with The Comforter's Center in Kampala Uganda, ministering to many with our Bible studies. Sue Sanford from Federal Way, Washington and I will be taking part in this mission.

The leaders of this wonderful ministry are growing in Christ, but there is much work to do. It will be our great honor to meet with some of these leaders in April of this year to strengthen, encourage, minister to and pray for their specific needs. God is doing a great work in Uganda amongst these leaders, but the availability of discipleship materials is limited. They also have huge cultural stigmas to overcome in sharing the message of Christ to those who are hurting.

You can actually be a part of our mission trip to Africa from home! Many of you have supported missions financially in the past; some of you haven't had the opportunity before, but are in a place where you can now. We have many expenses to cover with this trip, which will cost approximately $6,900 for a team of two. Would you prayerfully consider giving toward this mission? Please earmark your donation "Uganda". Thank you for your prayers.
God bless you always.

Ukraine/Holland - Spring 2010

(Teresa Rinker & Barb Riedberger)

God opened the doors for us to begin a Healing Hearts Ministry in Ukraine in the fall of 2001. On this very first trip we discovered the ravaging effects that abortion has had on that country since the days of Stalin and Communism. We soon realized that most of the women in Ukraine have had at least one abortion and our hearts broke as we heard stories of women who have had 2, 5, 12, even 22 abortions. Why? The government paid for abortions and birth control was not readily available, coupled with the absence of God and little value for life. We know that God's heart is grieved and we believe that He has called us to bring hope and healing to the women of Ukraine. believers and unbelievers alike, all suffering with guilt and shame in the aftermath of their abortions.

We have been to Ukraine seven times in the past eight years and will be returning again this spring. While there, we plan to travel to three or four regions, holding women's events, speaking at a Christian University, several churches and also meeting with ministry leaders to encourage and offer them further training and discipleship. Healing Hearts Ukraine is a thriving ministry and in the past year there have been on-going groups in five different regions with many new women reached with the healing that comes from Jesus Christ, through His Word. Slava bogoo! (Praise God!)
God also opened the doors in Amsterdam, Holland working with Crossroads International Church. We have connected with several people who have a heart for this ministry and this past year the first Healing Hearts group was held. We received this report from one of the church elders.
"Just wanted to share a powerful testimony of someone who was baptized in Crossroads yesterday. While she was in the water, she gave a powerful confession and testimony about her abortion and the road of confession of sin and forgiveness that the Lord has taken her on. At the end... by this time I saw quite a few wet eyes around me... she made an appeal for other women, who were wrestling with guilt and shame because of their past, to come into the Light of the Lord with this dark chapter which has such a taboo resting on it. I wanted to encourage you, as this is a fruit of your ministry that you deposited here in seed form! May the Lord continue to bless and keep you and enable you to minister the freedom of the Lord to many more captives." We are excited to return to Holland with the hopes of raising up more leaders and getting the word of the ministry out to additional churches and women.

Please pray for wisdom, as we trust God to raise up and strengthen a leadership team of Ukrainian and Dutch women with vision and initiative and that God would move the hearts of people to give financially to support this trip, which has been budgeted at $5,650 for a ministry team of two. Please earmark your check "Ukraine/Holland"

Bulgaria/Romania Spring 2010

(Kathy & Richard Kennard)

I am so excited to make a return visit to Bulgaria and Romania. I will be working with Daniela who is with Mission Possible, Bulgaria. Mission Possible is a grounded ministry that primarily teaches and trains pastors. Daniela would like me to work with the residents at Women at Risk and Hope Center, homes for battered women, using The Hem of His Garment, with the hopes of translating this study into Bulgarian.

Daniela is also the editor of "Leah", the only Christian women's magazine in Bulgaria, with readers totaling 1,500. It is my hope that we could one day submit an article for this magazine.

Romania has the highest abortion rate in the world with 75% of all pregnancies ending in abortion. I will be traveling to the Pro Vita Medical Center, which is an OB/GYN clinic where the women must go to get pro-life counseling before deciding to abort. To date, they have saved 413 babies. I have been in contact with the director for several years and am looking forward to meeting her face to face and working together to give her more information about Healing Hearts. I will not be raising support for this mission at this time. Thank you for your prayers,

Romania/Bulgaria
We hope that you will join with us in prayer as we send out these passionate Healing Hearts Leaders to these various missions. If you would like to join hands with us financially, please make your checks payable to Healing Hearts and earmark them either Uganda or Ukraine / Holland.

Joyfully with good hope in Jesus Christ,

Foreign Missions Director
