Healing Hearts Ministries Internaional [LOGO]

Dear Friend,

This month I would like to share with you what the Lord did in our recent mission trip to the Ukraine. The following was written by Teresa Rinker, HH Foreign Missions Director.

As we concluded our outreach to over one hundred women in Pervomaisk, each woman was led to her knees in repentance over their abortions. The Holy Spirit moved each woman to cry out to Him in her own voice, in her own language and those cries came into His ears and moved His heart. "Heal us," they cried. "Forgive us for killing our children, God." "Come to us Lord Jesus and wash us clean." "Help us, Lord. Can you forgive?" These are the cries that have been coming into God's attentive ears for almost one hundred years in the former Soviet Union.

This is why God has brought Healing Hearts to the country of Ukraine. As I listened and wept with my sisters in Christ, my heart was so encouraged to know that God has answered and will answer their cries! He has brought the balm of His Word to these brokenhearted women through the ministry of Healing Hearts. As I mentioned their cries, Valya, one of our Healing Hearts leaders said, "Tears that are cleansing the souls." Tears that are cleansing the souls. Such precious words to remind us of God's heart towards the ministry of Healing Hearts in Ukraine, in America and around the world.

During our recent trip to Ukraine we held outreaches in 4 different cities. The purpose of these meetings is to highlight the ministry and to get information to new churches about Healing Hearts and our Bible Study. Through words of testimony as well as Bible teachings and prayer we provide an opportunity for women who have experienced abortion, or know someone who has to receive a Bible Study as well as prayer and ministry. We also use these opportunities to educate church leaders and encourage them to use the ministry as an opportunity for evangelism.

We had the opportunity to speak at Transformation Baptist Church at their Sunday morning service as well. That evening we had an outreach at Transformation with over 35 women from 5 churches and gave out 16 Bible Studies. One older woman at this event clutched her Bible Study to her chest and tears rolled down her cheeks, as she shared her story with me. She is not able to read well because she was an orphan and is not able to write due to severe arthritis. Before she left, another younger woman from her church made the commitment to help her go through the Bible Study, so she could experience healing from her abortions. This same older woman knelt in the center aisle during our closing prayer, tears falling at the feet of her Lord.

The following evening we were in Poltava, a beautiful city of 350,000 people. We met in a little Baptist Church in a combined outreach with a CPC, the Baptist Church and Calvary Chapel of Poltava. We had over 42 people in attendance, both men and women and because of this, we were able to also share about how abortion affects men as well. Here we gave out 21 Bible Studies and were able to meet with the CPC Director to plan for future ministry and have the full support of the C Chapel staff as well.

The following day we traveled by Marshutka to Dnepropetrovsk and spoke with 11 women at another combined outreach of Bare Child CPC and Calvary Chapel. Pam Nelson, the Center Director is post abortive and is hoping to take these women through the Healing Hearts Bible Study and to aid in raising up a leader in Dnepropetrovsk.

From there it was another train back to Kiev to plan and repack and off to a night train with our back packs and 4 heavy rolling suitcases filled with conference materials! This train made 41 stops in a 17 hour period and the train itself was like something out of an old Soviet Movie! AMAZING! While in Pervomaisk we were able to spend a good deal of time with our key leaders and also attended a special Friday evening service, sharing about Healing Hearts and our upcoming outreach and training. We were also able to have lunch with the Pastor's and their families and felt warmly welcomed by everyone! We stayed in homes with precious servants who made us feel so loved and had great joy having "Americans" in their homes (a rare occurrence). Pervomaisk is a city established in 1765 and has only about 35,000 people. It is very rural and in many ways sweetly simple and removed from the BIG cities that we have also experienced, in Ukraine.

I have already shared about the outreach in Pervomaisk where over 100 women attended and we saw such fruit of our HH leaders in this area. They participated in our outreach through songs, skits and sharing testimonies in an amazing blending of Ukrainian and American Jesus style!! It was such a powerful outreach and you could feel the presence and moving of the Holy Spirit. The Pastor of this church sat in the balcony during all five hours of teaching and testimony and gave us a huge thumbs up saying it was an excellent time for the women of his church and invited us back in the future.

The following day we had the opportunity to meet with 21 of our Lugansk Regional leaders at our leadership training. A one day training (we decided) was far too short but we were able to teach and equip leaders as well as hearing more about their personal ministries in their cities. We have approximately 10 additional leaders in this area as well, who were not able to attend. Our hearts were knit together through our Lord Jesus as well as our abortion experiences and even the language barrier at times seemed non existent. Slava Bogoo!

In conclusion, I am happy to report that we have successfully closed the Healing Hearts Office in Kiev and have transitioned from Vanessa's leadership to Ukrainian women taking over and owning their own ministries! Please pray as we continue this transitional time and as we pray and prepare to return again next Spring where we have also been invited to a seminary in Odessa, a town on the Black Sea where there are about 150 Baptist Churches in that area that we will be working with. We were also able to reestablish our relationship with the head of the Baptist Union in Ukraine, spoke to women's ministry leaders from 26 different churches and have their full support. We will continue that partnership as we are faithful in the cities thus far and as we spread out to other areas in the future!

What a blessing to serve our Risen Lord Jesus Christ,

Teresa L Rinker

Foreign Missions Director
