The Inescapable Truth of Chemical Abortions |

Dear Friend,
In 2023, during our Healing Hearts National Conference, I sat quietly in a workshop led by Cathy Mulvey on the rising reality of chemical abortions. Though I had spent many years supporting Healing Hearts Certified Biblical Counselors who walk alongside men and women wounded by abortion, I was not prepared for what I would learn that day.
Cathy explained a sobering fact that, while traditional abortion numbers appeared to be declining after the overturning of Roe v. Wade, the reality was far more complex. Now, the majority of abortions are taking place through abortion pills, often at home with little or no medical oversight.
Across the country, more women are walking through abortion alone — guided not by medical teams, but by telehealth appointments and pills delivered through the mail. Bathrooms and bedrooms have become the places where everything occurs: the pills, the pain, the bleeding, and the sudden realization of what has been lost. It is silent, but it is not gentle.
As I listened, something in particular pressed heavily on my heart. It was not statistics or changes in legislation, but the stark image of where abortion is now happening. Not in a clinic. Not in a hospital. But in the quiet of a home.
I imagined what it must feel like to stand in that same space each morning, knowing what was once ordinary now carries extraordinary sorrow. The weight becomes deeply personal.
Sitting there with those thoughts, I found myself crying out, “Oh Lord, how much healing this generation will need.” |

How Healing Hearts Responds |
Facing this new reality of abortion at home has deepened our burden and increased the urgency of our mission to bring hope and healing into places of despair. I am humbled that God has entrusted Healing Hearts with a sacred role.
Many women now reach out to our ministry within days and weeks of at-home chemical abortions — fragile, grieving, and searching for someone to help them make sense of their pain.
Through our gospel-centered, grace-driven discipleship studies, we help women and men find healing, forgiveness, and freedom in Christ. |

Binding Up the Brokenhearted guides women through Scripture toward mercy and restoration. Restoring a Father’s Heart walks men through grief, repentance, and renewal.
Each participant is guided by a Healing Hearts Certified Biblical Counselor, trained to walk with truth, gentleness, and prayer. These faithful servants are witnessing deeper, more immediate trauma — requiring more care, prayer, and personal support.
Through these efforts, we are seeing God move. We are witnessing repentance, restored families, and hearts brought from darkness into light. |
The Sanctity of EVERY Life: A Call to Compassion |
January is Sanctity of Life Month — a time when churches affirm that every human life is sacred. In a year when more abortions are happening quietly in homes, this month must also be a call to compassion.
We rightly grieve the children whose lives were lost. But we must also grieve for the mothers and fathers who carry invisible wounds. Many are suffering silently — unsure whether forgiveness is possible, whether God could still love them, and afraid to speak their story aloud. This is the mission field before us. |
