Dear Friend,

I hope that this letter finds you doing well and recovering from a very busy holiday season. I want to thank everyone for their generous gifts during the month of December. God is always so very good to provide for our needs and we want you to know how much we appreciate your prayers and your financial gifts. It is truly a blessing to have you as a partner in ministry.

As we reach out with God’s Word to those who are hurting, and as we train up leaders, it’s amazing to see the ripple effect that our ministry has. It not only touches those we minister to, but it touches all those around them. Recently, I received an email from one of our leaders in New Jersey that I would like to share with you.

Hi Sue! I pray this email finds you wonderfully blessed!
My pastor is passionate about this ministry and he's always encouraging me as God uses me to talk to hurting women. I've told him so much about the Bible study and we talked about the Wounded Warrior study for men. I told him he could check it out online and instead he enrolled in the study! While that's wonderful news in itself....the better news is he absolutely loves the study! (He is not post-abortive) Every day he's telling me about what God is doing in his heart...how he needs to deal with so many issues....forgiveness is a HUGE factor for him.... and I can see him changing right before my eyes! He's such a busy guy but he's really trying to make time and focus on this study. He knows that God is going to do an amazing thing in his heart and it's the coolest thing to watch! (FYI, he's been a pastor for like 30 years - he's not a young kid - he's been a student of the Word for years --- BUT this study is the one God's using to touch his heart!) And he tells me that his on-line counselor Alan pushes him...questions him...he's not used to that and he likes it! He tried another online study before and there was practically no communication with his counselor. He was very surprised by the personal attention he was getting! Such a beautiful thing!

And there's more.... I was so excited when I (finally) started our required study for this year, "Seeking Him" by Nancy Leigh DeMoss, that I wanted to share it with someone. So I brought it to work, shared it with Pastor. I told him how one of the checklists was so convicting for me...he read it and was pained that it was also so convicting for him. He had me order the book for him immediately. He started reading it and felt the whole congregation could benefit from it. Now he's using it on Wednesday nights to disciple God's people! I gotta tell ya, you could hear a pin drop on Wednesday nights! I already read the lessons and I'm still sitting on the edge of my seat -- soaking up every word! Last Wednesday, I had a 25 year old "thug looking" guy sitting next to me in the front row -- taking notes on how we are to forgive, submit to authority and love each other! My husband sat on the other side of me -- really, how blessed am I?? I don't know if the book was chosen by you or someone else, but it surely was a God-move!

Well, my friend, I wanted you to know that the work you are doing in the name of Christ is having a tremendous impact in New Jersey! (Trust me, NJ is tough! This is big!) Thank you for having such an impact in MY life, encouraging me to be a part of this ministry and helping me to draw closer to HIM. I appreciate you so very, very, very much & can't wait to see you next year!!! Love and hugs, Donna

It is truly a blessing to receive testimonies like these and know that God’s Word never stops moving when it is sent forth to do a work. It is our prayer as we minister to the broken hearted that ministry will continue to flow and cause revival that could change a nation. We may be small but God is not. To Him we give all the glory, honor and praise for what has been accomplished.

As I reflect back over this past year, I am amazed at what the Lord has accomplished through Healing Hearts. I want to list those accomplishments so that you can pray for the fruit that will come as we continue to minister God’s Word to those who are hurting.

  • Missions - This past year we reached out and touched lives in Israel, Zambia, Uganda, Holland, Ukraine, Canada and Brazil. Pray for much fruit from these outreaches.

  • Trainings - Three trainings were held, and leaders were trained in the following states: 9 Washington, 3 Michigan, 2 Georgia, 2 Idaho, 1 Indiana, 1 Minnesota, 1 Florida, 1 Canada, 1 Texas, 1 Alabama, 1 Wisconsin. Pray for these leaders as they establish their ministries in their home churches.

  • Conferences - Vancouver Missions Fest; Beth Moore/Washington; Hearts at Home/Illinois, Michigan and Minnesota; Church Conference in Wisconsin; Women’s Expo in Michigan; Seattle Missions Fest; Women’s Conference in Kentucky and other misc. outreach events. Pray for more outreach opportunities.

  • Fund-raising - Our first Walk for the Wounded Heart week was established and group walks were held in various locations throughout the US. 69 women raised support, prayed and walked in their communities. Our 11th annual Golf Benefit was held with 35 golfers raising very much needed support. Thank you golfers and walkers for all your hard work in gathering pledges and being a witness for Jesus in your communities. Pray for more participation this next year as we raise funds to support our rapidly growing ministry.

  • E-Ministry 2008 - Our E-ministry was full to capacity with 95-100 individuals enrolled at any given time during the year. Pray for Lue Feathers, our E-Ministry Coordinator and Sally Lancaster, our Web-servant and all of our E-Ministry Supervisors and counselors who made this ministry a huge success this past year.

  • Prison Ministry - Thanks to all of you for praying, we are blessed to be back in Dwight Correctional Facility, ministering once again. Ministry is flowing and there are women on a waiting list. Continue praying for Jenny Hall and all of the leaders involved in that ministry.

  • Ministry Needs - Our server needs to be replaced (approx cost $1,100) and we need to replace two of our computers (approx cost $2,400).

  • We are thankful for the many blessings that the Lord has bestowed upon us this past year and are looking forward to a new year filled with an abundance of fruit. Your prayers and financial support are a blessing.

    In His love
