![Healing Hearts Ministries Internaional [LOGO]](https://www.healinghearts.org/nimages/HHLetterhead_Web700.png) Dear Friend,  “Please tell people to send you to Peru full time soon so that you can train leaders,” said Juana, a Peruvian pastor’s wife (pictured). “We want to see many women in Peru receive Christ’s healing and learn to forgive others.” My name is Candy Surrett, and the Lord has called me to go to Peru as a full-time career missionary. All my life, the Lord has been preparing me to be His missionary to women who are hurting and in need of hope, to bring them The Hope that can only be found in Jesus Christ. I had the blessing and privilege of growing up as a missionary kid and living in Peru, where I accepted Jesus Christ as my personal Savior when I was 5 years old. I grew up speaking, reading, and writing Spanish. I was actively involved in my parents’ ministry and I loved sharing in the lives of those we served. For the last 20 years, I have lived in Tulsa, Oklahoma while my parents continued serving in Peru. They are now retired after serving 35 years in that country. A few years ago, the Lord showed me clearly that He wants me to go back to Peru as a full-time missionary and serve Him and the women there. I have maintained many of my Peruvian friendships and connections throughout the years, and this will enable me to minister and serve much more effectively once I arrive in Peru full-time. I will be starting a ministry called “Hope for Women.” We will be using the Healing Hearts Bible Studies as a way for women to grow deeper in their walk with the Lord, to deal with issues of unforgiveness and bitterness, and to be healed from things in their past. It is our hope to teach women how to reach other women for Christ and to train some who might be called to serve as Healing Hearts Bible Study leaders. We would love to see Healing Hearts small group Bible studies throughout Peru! I will be partnering with Tulsa Bible Church and Fellowship International Mission for my mission to Peru. I am currently at about 80% of my needed monthly support and about 90% of my prayer support. My goal is to leave in early 2018, if it’s the Lord’s will and timing. In the spring of 2017, I spent about 3 ½ months in Peru sharing about my ministry and laying some groundwork for my return. While there, I led several Healing Hearts Bible studies with pastors’ wives and other leaders to familiarize them with the studies that we would be teaching in their churches. The ladies were in awe of what the Lord did in their lives! They came expecting to find out what we would be teaching and how they might become Healing Hearts leaders. They never thought they would be dealing with deep issues in their own hearts.The Lord brought healing and forgiveness to several of the ladies. Here are a few comments I received from them: “Candy, I don’t know what I would have done if you hadn’t come when you did and brought the Hem of His Garment Bible Study! I was so angry and full of bitterness and hurt! Learning to really forgive is HARD and I have to forgive often, but I’m FREE! I now have such peace! People come up to me and ask me why I am smiling and have such peace when we are going through such horrible trials – but I tell them that I am trusting in the Lord and that He is my Provider and He takes away my anger and gives me peace... Several of my friends keep asking, ‘when will Candy be here and when can I start [the Hem study]?’” “I started remembering all the suffering that Jesus went through starting that first moment when He was betrayed by one of His disciples that He loved. I also loved my husband and he betrayed me and the pain was so horrible. I realized that Jesus had also felt such terrible pain … But He suffered even a lot more than I did …all because of His great love for us!” “I am so excited to see what the Lord is doing in my life and all He is going to do! And it all began with your ministry, Candy, and this Hem of His Garment Bible Study…God has a great work for you here in Peru and we need you, our beloved sister. I have great expectations of what the Lord is going to do!” One of the pastor’s wives said, “I knew I needed to forgive, but I wouldn’t forgive. It wasn’t until going deep in God’s Word through the Hem of His Garment that I was faced with my disobedience and how my lack of forgiving others was deeply hindering my relationship with Christ. And seeing how much the Lord had forgiven me, I realized I had to forgive too… I want to become a Healing Hearts leader so that I can lead small groups in my church and see the ladies truly be set free and serve the Lord…”  During my visit, every time I shared about my future ministry in Peru and how The Hem of His Garment study had healed and changed so many women, I had ladies wanting to sign up immediately. But as it was shortly before my 3 1/2-month visit ended, we didn’t have time. They all said to come back quickly—that they needed this study!I can’t wait to go back and see the Healing Hearts studies and leadership training established throughout Peru! - Candy  Please join us in praying for Candy and her mission to the women of Peru.
