February 2008 Prayer Letter Click here to request this monthly Prayer Letter via mail or email.

Dear Friends,
Third John 7, “…they went forth for His name’s sake…“ this is in the forefront of my mind as I begin to write this letter about all that God is doing in Ukraine and Holland. As we prepare to go forth, we will go in the Name of Jesus, for His name’s sake, in His strength, offering His love to the broken hearted women of Ukraine and Holland.
Wow! It is the beginning of February and already the momentum for ministry is building! True to the Word that the Lord does not sleep…nor does He slumber (Psalm 121:4)! It is with great joy and thanksgiving that I share with you our (Teresa Rinker and Barb Riedberger) plans to return to Ukraine and Holland in April of this year! Are you thinking…weren’t they just there!?? It feels a bit like that to us as well, as our last visit was in the fall of 2007.
As you may remember from my last prayer report, the Lord moved mightily with us, through us and in us in October of 2007 and we felt a great momentum for ministry, building within days of our arrival. The Lord was faithful to lead us to very important contacts, which are even now bearing fruit and bringing forth the need for yet another ministry visit. Slava Bogoo (Praise the Lord)!
Please join us in prayer as we connect via email with all of our contacts who have requested return visits for ministry opportunities this spring. So far we have firmed up plans for an all day meeting in Kiev, with Baptist Union women’s ministry leaders from every Region in Ukraine. We will present the factual need for ministry to post abortive women in their churches as well as sharing our testimonies and God’s Word as an answer to this need. Valentina our head leader in Ukraine will also join with us in ministry at this event. Svetlana the head of women’s ministry for the Baptist Union last shared with us that eighty percent of the women in her home church have had abortions and need healing. Next we will present similar information at another all day event in Kiev, at Christ Cathedral Church for the women of eight different churches that meet there.
Please pray for the confirmation of several other events: Odessa Seminary, women’s ministry leaders from all Baptist churches in Odessa Region, Odessa Christian University and Kiev Theological Seminary. Please pray as communication is difficult at best, with language barriers and the like. We are confidant that God has prepared the way! We will also have a couple from the Black Sea area of Russia attending our events in Odessa in hopes of beginning the ministry in their church. Slava Bogoo!
As I write about these things, my heart wells up with God’s love and His passion for the broken hearted that we have met each time while in Ukraine…and now in Holland. As I pray I see their faces and hear their cries and also remember God’s faithfulness as He has ministered to them, through us and through His Word.
Since my last report, Holland has virtually come alive! Presently we have eight women and one man (and more possibly in the near future) who are working through the Bible Studies on line in preparation for our visit where we will continue to do outreach in Holland as well as conducting our first ever HH training. These people have a passion for God’s Word and for serving the broken hearted in Holland. Among them are representatives from YWAM, Be”ad Chaim Nederland (a pro life organization) and several area churches. Most of these people, minister in their churches, in various ministries and some in the red light district of Amsterdam. Dawn Spinks and Carolyn Ros of Crossroads International Church are our two key people in the region and they are faithfully setting things up on their end. Please pray for wisdom as Barb Riedberger and I prepare things on this end…as taking a training “on the road” is not an easy task…but one that we are so passionate and excited about!
Please pray and praise God for :
- For health and our personal time with the Lord Jesus which is tantamount to the success of this mission!
- Barb and I, for time as we lead them through the studies and as we pull everything together for the trip, events and training in addition to our ministries here in the States...with God all things are possible!
- Svetlana, Valentina and Lera as we plan for events with Baptist Union.
- A translator’s availability for our entire time in Ukraine.
- For finances…personal support for our plane tickets as well as HH foreign ministry support for supplies, transportation and translation while there.
- Clear communication with contacts in Ukraine and final preparation details for all events.
- Transportation mercies (train tickets) while in Ukraine.
- For our families as they support us and sacrifice their time with us as we prepare, leave and minister in Ukraine and Holland
- For the softening of hearts in the Nations of Ukraine and Holland
- For Barb and I as we put our best feet forward to study Russian Language to become more familiar with at least conversational words. How many hours are in a day Lord?
If you would like to give toward this mission please earmark your check “Ukraine/Holland”. Thank you so much for your prayers and also your possible financial support. What would we do without the Body of Christ?
With great joy,
