August 2006 Prayer Letter

Dear Friend,

 Greetings in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ! All of us here pray that you are enjoying the summer weather with family and friends. We are praising God for all that is going on in Healing Hearts, this has been one of the busiest summers that we have had as a ministry for a very long time.


In our last prayer letter I shared with you the ministry opportunity that God has given us to minister to the girls at the Torre Fuerte Home in Arequipa, Peru. Please pray for me as I write the study for teens and for our upcoming mission trip in October. Also pray for provision for this trip.

In order for two of us to make the trip it's going to cost approximately $4,000. We would like to take a third person and will do so if funds provide. If you would like to give to this very important mission, please see the donation link at the bottom of this prayer newsletter. This project is not only important for Peru but can be used world wide when completed. It's not an easy project and will take some time to finalize but we are trusting God for the timing. Your prayers are much appreciated.

Please continue to pray for the leaders and clients in Dwight Women's Correctional Center. Jenny H. reported to us that one of the ladies prayed to received Jesus into her life. Pray for her and the other ladies as they look to God's Word for their healing. All three groups are going well and all the leaders truly appreciate your prayers.

Every now and then God blesses us with a challenge that turns out to be a huge blessing. Carol, one of our E-Counselors received the following email from someone who logged into our site:
    My name is J... I live in... I am married to a Marine and have 2 dogs that I love. We have an unexpected pregnancy happen right now and are trying to make the choice of murder if you call it that of an abortion. I hope I can find peace by joining this group and have the Lord forgive me for this. I know physically, financially and all of the above I am not ready for a child and yet it is my fault that this has happened. I deserve no less the punishment that God will put upon me. I just hope to find peace and forgiveness.

Immediately upon receiving this email Carol requested prayer from all other HH leaders and she prayed for God to give her wisdom regarding her response. Although we do not have enough space to share her full response with you, below is the reply that she received.
    Thank you for your kind words, we have decided to step up and keep the baby! We are doing really good, at first the doctor thought i might have a miscarriage but im taking very good care of myself and we are making the best of our decision that we made. We are actually very excited and know that this will be a forever change in our lives. We are very supported by our families and I would still like you to continue to pray for us as I do every night also. Thank you so much for your care.

Please pray for this young couple and all those who log into our web site. God is doing great things via email and we are blessed to watch him work. Please pray for the following as well:
  • Continued prayer for Sally L. as she works very hard on our web site. We have so much that we want to do to reach hurting people. Pray that God will give her wisdom and direction.
  • Pray for Lue F. as she oversees our E-Ministry. Things have slowed down a bit but we are running around 80-85 clients continually.
  • Pray for our upcoming training that will be held the end of October. Thus far we have 15 potential trainees.
  • The children's home in Peru, the writing of the study for teens and financial provision for the trip. Also pray for us as we look into translating "The Hem of His Garment" in Spanish.
  • Pray for the Healing Hearts board as we interview potential board members. We want all who serve to be selected by the Lord. Pray for Wisdom.
  • Pray for our leaders in Ukraine as they reach out to the brokenhearted.
  • Pray for US leaders as fall groups will be starting in a few weeks. Some leaders have had to do summer groups in order to decrease their waiting lists. Pray God's blessings and that they would bear much fruit.
  • Pray for the Healing Hearts board as we seek God's wisdom regarding the purchase of property for an International Headquarters office. We want to be sensitive to God's leading and His timing.
